Playstation Network – Playstation Network Down for Routine Maintenance

If you’re a crazy about PlayStation Network games, then there is the need to keep you informed that the PlayStation Network will be down for most part of today, 02 February 2012. According to Sony, the network is expected to be off-line for scheduled routine maintenance Thursday, February 2 from about 6 AM until midnight PST. This is downtime is definitely one that will outrage many since it will occur right when most gamers are likely to be playing on the PlayStation Network.

However, there’s a flash of good news in all these as Sony announced that most online play will be unaffected during this time. Sony also notes that users who are already signed into their account on the PlayStation Network before the maintenance starts should be able to stay signed into their accounts. Unfortunately though, some services will be unavailable for gamers over the entire maintenance period. The services that will be unavailable during maintenance includes the PlayStation Store via the PS3, PSP, and Media Go.

Another problem is that PlayStation Network users will also not be able to register new accounts or access account management features. During this maintenance period, other services that will be unavailable are PlayStation HomeMusic Unlimited and Video Unlimited. That being said, however, it is worth noting that during the maintenance, gamers will be able to collect in game trophies and the trophies will be updated to their account when maintenance ends.
